About Me

Hi, my name is Erika and I’m an animator.

Animation is in my DNA. When I was little, I always tried to make hand-drawn animations in my notebooks. I always loved watching cartoons and movies with live-action and animated characters like “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” or “Mary Poppins”. In fact, I wished to live in a world like that, surrounded by colorful drawings or anime characters.

After returning to Argentina in 2008 (oh, right, I’m Argentine but lived 20 years in Germany), I started studying 2D Animation at Image Campus. Then, in 2014, I finally started my professional career as a freelance animator with a small group of animators I met. We worked on several projects such as Dinopaka, Medialuna, and Ciro Tódorov for the Argentine channel “Pakapaka” for which I had the pleasure of working on Storyboards and Animation. In addition to those projects, I also worked for other brands and TV channels such as Fanta (TV commercials) and bumpers and shorts for Cartoon Network with Adventure Time, Powerpuff Girls, Mr. Bean, and others.

Among everything, one of the achievements I am most proud of is having been able to master the main digital animation programs:

  • Anime Studio
  • Toon Boom (Harmony)
  • Toon Boom Storyboard pro
  • Adobe Flash
  • TVPaint
  • After Effects

And even though my path as an animator started digitally, I also had the luck of going back to the roots and re-learning and having work experiences with traditional animation.

So, hey, in the end, being an animator allowed my dream of living surrounded by colorful characters and animated worlds to come true.

The only difference is that now I’m the one who creates them, and I love it. 🙂
